Taxonomy
Dipoloceras semicornutum was named by Spath (1931) [Distribution: Middle Albian]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Escragnolles (Var) (Upper Greensand), which is in an Albian marine sandstone in France.
It was recombined as Dipoloceras (Dipoloceroides) semicornutum by Breistroffer (1947); it was recombined as Dipoloceroides semicornutum by Kennedy and Klinger (2012).
