Sassia (Byramia) was named by MacNeil and Dockery (1984) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-m T Ol-l Sepkoski's reference number: 852; MacNeil in MacNeil & Dockery 1984].

It was synonymized subjectively with Personella by Beu (1988); it was reranked as Byramia by Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Sassia by MacNeil and Dockery (1984); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).
