Cypraea boucheti was named by Dolin and Lozouet (2004) [= 1923 Cypraea (Bernayia) subglobosa sensu Cossmann & Peyrot [non Grateloup, 1846] part. : 304.
1924 Cypraea (Bernayia) subglobosa sensu Cossmann & Peyrot [non Grateloup, 1846] - Cossmann & Peyrot part. : pl. 10, fig. 18-19 [non fig. 20 = Prozonarina expansa (Grateloup, 1846)].
= 1941 Schilderia cf. taurovalis Schilder: 93.]. Its type specimen is MNHN-IM-2000-3687, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Le Peloua reef, Saucats Valley, Gironde, which is in a Burdigalian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Falun de Leognan Formation of France.
