Scalaria striatocostata was named by Müller (1851) [Scalaria striato-costata].

It was recombined as Turbonilla striatocostata by Böhm (1885); it was recombined as Mesostoma striatocostata by Holzapfel (1888); it was recombined as Armenostoma striatocostata by Hacobjan (1974).
