Taxonomy
Cypraeacites inflatus was named by von Schlotheim (1820). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Weinheim, which is in a Rupelian marine sandstone in the Muschelsandstein Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Cypraeacites.
