Le Renard 1995Coquilles de petite taille (hauteur adulte comprise entre 2 et 15 mm), de forme allant de buccinoïde courte à fusoïde allongée (rapport hauteur sur diamètre maximal variant selon les genres de 1,5 à 3,5). Ornementation non forte, comportant généralement des stries spirales, avec parfois des côtes radiales peu nombreuses. Péristome mince (mais fortement épaissi dans un genre). Labre non liré, à profil droit, sans sinus anal. Bord columellaire sans dents ni plis, à cal appliqué. Canal antérieur jamais très long (nul dans un genre). Protoconque à nucléus plus ou moins aigu etétiré en longueur, lisse ou avec des stries spirales (voir GOUGEROT, 1983; et Fig. 2). Limite entre protoconque et téléoconque nette, non sinueuse. Absence de traces de coloration. Aucun représentant sénestre connu.
