Taxonomy
Littorina mumiola was named by Cossmann (1899). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.J04671, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Gouetina.

It was recombined as Gouetina mumiola by Cossmann (1915).
