Taxonomy
Bittium oamaruticum was named by Bartrum (1919). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GS953 - Gee Greensand, Hutchinson's Quarry, which is in an Otaian coastal sandstone in the Gee Greensand Formation of New Zealand.
