Hespererato cocconii was named by Schilder (1933) [= Erato (Erato) elongata etrusca Schilder 1933, pp. 250, 254, 259, 264, text-fig. 82; Erato (Erato) elongata etrusca Schilder, 1933E -
Schilder & Schilder 1971 p. 14.]. Its type specimen is CS 5140, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
