Gorgonops dixeyi
Taxonomy
Chiwetasaurus dixeyi was named by Haughton (1926). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-7846, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossils 'B2', Upper Bone Bed, Chiweta, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Chiweta Beds Formation of Malawi.
It was recombined as Gorgonops dixeyi by Sigogneau-Russell (1989).
