Lycaenops tenuirostris
Taxonomy
Tangagorgon tenuirostris was named by Boonstra (1953). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-11744, a skull (A complete but compressed skull with lower jaw and cervical vertebrae), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is B32, Usili mountain, Ngaka - Kingori Hill Area, Ruhuhu Valley, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Usili Formation of Tanzania. It is the type species of Tangagorgon.
It was recombined as Lycaenops tenuirostris by Sigogneau-Russell (1989).
