Scylacognathus grimbeeki

Taxonomy
Cynarioides grimbeeki was named by Broom (1935). Its type specimen is TMP 246, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Leeukloof, which is in a Wuchiapingian crevasse splay sandstone/claystone in the Teekloof Formation of South Africa.

It was recombined as Scylacognathus grimbeeki by Sigogneau-Russell (1989).

Synonyms
  • Cynarioides laticeps was named by Broom (1935). Its type specimen is TMP 245, a skull (Flattened and deformed skull with mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kookfontein, Victoria West, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial siliciclastic in South Africa.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Scylacognathus grimbeeki by Sigogneau-Russell (1989).
