Taxonomy
Pachydiscus carezi was named by de Grossouvre (1894). Its type specimen is MNHN-F-R54905, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Nowakites.

It was recombined as Nowakites carezi by Kennedy (1995).
