Taxonomy
Goniatites ausavensis was named by Steininger (1849). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Tornoceras ausavense by Matern (1931); it was recombined as Lobotornoceras ausavense by Korn and Klug (2002), Bockwinkel et al. (2013) and Söte et al. (2021).
