It was recombined as Goniatites lingua by Sandberger and Sandberger (1851); it was recombined as Linguatornoceras lingua by Korn and Klug (2002); it was recombined as Linguatornoceras linguum by House and Kirchgasser (2008) and Söte et al. (2021).
