Taxonomy
Trivia chipolana was named by Maury (1910). Its type specimen is PRI 3463, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 457 - Tenmile Creek, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
