Taxonomy
Cypraea (Trivia) smithi was named by Martin (1884). It is extant. Its type specimen is RGM 10129, a shell.

It was recombined as Cypraea smithi by Pannekoek (1936); it was recombined as Trivirostra smithi by Schilder (1937); it was recombined as Pusula (Dolichupis) smithi by Skwarko (1994).
