Ohioaspis was named by Wells (1944) [Sepkoski's age data: D Emsi D Give-u Sepkoski's reference number: 521,1066]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Asterosteidae by Denison (1978); and to Rhenanida by Sepkoski (2002).
