Triviella merces was named by Iredale (1924) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10496]. It is extant. It is the type species of Ellatrivia.
It was recombined as Niveria (Ellatrivia) merces by Schilder (1941); it was recombined as Trivia merces by Wilson (2002); it was recombined as Ellatrivia merces by Iredale (1931) and Fehse and Grego (2010).
