Groenlandaspis was named by Heintz (1932) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras D Fame-u Sepkoski's reference number: 521]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Holonematidae by Denison (1978); to Groenlandaspididae by Long et al. (1997); and to Arthrodira by Sepkoski (2002).
