Taxonomy
Bulla ovum was named by Linnaeus (1758). It is extant. It is the type species of Amphiperas.

It was recombined as Amphiperas ovum by Gronow (1881) and Schilder (1941); it was recombined as Ovum ovum by Rosenberg et al. (2006).
