It was assigned to Cladoselachii by Goto et al. (1988); to Elasmobranchii by Zangerl (1981), Williams (1985) and Williams (1998); to Chondrichthyes by Coates and Sequeira (2001), Sepkoski (2002) and Maisey (2008); and to Cladodontomorphi by Ginter et al. (2010) and Ivanov et al. (2013).
