Taxonomy
Periglypta weegeeree was named by Darragh and Kendrick (2010). Its type specimen is WAM 79.2860b, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Merlinleigh Station, breakaway east of homestead, which is in a Lutetian shoreface sandstone in the Merlinleigh Sandstone Formation of Australia.
