Eutrephoceras japonicus

Taxonomy
Nautilus japonicus was named by Shimizu (1926) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle-Late Eocene; Japan.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yamanokami, Hoshuyama-mura, Asakura coal-field, which is in a Rupelian marine sandstone in Japan.

It was recombined as Eutrephoceras japonicum by Kobayashi and Kamada (1959); it was recombined as Cymatoceras japonicum by Matsumoto and Muramoto (1983); it was recombined as Eutrephoceras japonicus by Noda et al. (2001).
