Taxonomy
Campodus was named by de Koninck (1844) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u C Mosc Sepkoski's reference number: 451]. It is not extant. Its type is Campodus agassizianus.
It was assigned to Cestraciontidae by Woodward (1889); to Orodontidae by Hay (1902) and Jordan (1963); to Eugeneodontida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Caseodontoidea by Zangerl (1981) and Ginter et al. (2010).
