Palaeoherpeton decorum
Taxonomy
Palaeogyrinus decorus was named by Watson (1926). Its type specimen is NEWHM: G015.71 (HM G 15.71), a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pirnie Colliery, which is in a Kashirian terrestrial horizon in the Parrot Coal Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Palaeoherpeton.
It was recombined as Palaeoherpeton decorum by Panchen (1964) and Panchen (1970).
