Desmatotherium mongoliense
Taxonomy
Desmatotherium mongoliense was named by Osborn (1923). Its type specimen is AMNH 19161, a maxilla (right maxilla), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 23 miles South of Iren Dabasu (AMNH), which is in an Irdinmanhan terrestrial horizon in the Irdin Manha Formation of China.
It was recombined as Helaletes mongoliensis by Osborn (1923), Radinsky (1965) and Reshetov (1979); it was recombined as Irdinolophus mongoliensis by Dashzeveg and Hooker (1997).
