Stylatractus was named by Haeckel (1887) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp R Sepkoski's reference number: 86]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Stylosphaeridae by De Wever et al. (2001); to Spumellaria by Sepkoski (2002); and to Actinommidae by Sharma and Takahashi (2007).
