Taxonomy
Naosaurus credneri was named by Jaekel (1910). It is not extant. Its type locality is Niederhaslich, which is in a Sakmarian lacustrine limestone in the Niederhäslich-Schweinsdorf Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Edaphosaurus credneri by Romer and Price (1940), Reisz (1986) and Spindler et al. (2019).
