Taxonomy
Actinostromaria was named by Haug (1909) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo-u K Ceno Sepkoski's reference number: 761]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Actinostromariidae.

It was assigned to Axinellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Actinostromariidae by Wood (1987) and West et al. (2015).
