Taxonomy
Asianeomys junggarensis was named by Wu et al. (2006). Its type specimen is IVPP V 14452.1, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tieersihabahe section (XJ 98035), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in the Tieersihabahe Formation of China. It is the type species of Asianeomys.
