Taxonomy
Pseudotheridomys yanshini was named by Lopatin (2000). Its type specimen is IAUU, ALT no. 44, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altynshokysu (bone bed II), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial claystone in the Aral Formation of Kazakhstan.
It was recombined as Asianeomys yanshini by Wu et al. (2006).
