Katumbia parringtoni
Taxonomy
Cryptocynodon parringtoni was named by von Huene (1942). Its type specimen is GPIT K 130, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kingori locality, Ruhuhu Basin, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Usili Formation of Tanzania. It is the type species of Katumbia.
It was recombined as Pristerodon parringtoni by King (1988) and King and Rubidge (1993); it was recombined as Katumbia parringtoni by Angielczyk (2007).
