It was assigned to Rhinobatidae by Jaekel (1894); to Galeomorphii by Sepkoski (2002); to Rhinidae by Jordan (1963) and Villafaña et al. (2020); and to Rhynchobatidae by Jonet (1968), Cappetta (1987), Dica et al. (1996), Tabuce et al. (2005), Kent (2018), Adnet et al. (2020), Cicimurri et al. (2022) and Guinot et al. (2023).
