It was assigned to Ganopristinae by Arambourg (1940); to Pristidae by Tabaste (1963); to Galeomorphii by Sepkoski (2002); to Sclerorhynchidae by Cappetta (1987) and Suárez and Cappetta (2004); and to Schizorhizinae by Kirkland and Aguillón-Martínez (2002) and Guinot et al. (2023).
