Taxonomy
Scutellum droseron was named by Holloway and Neil (1982). Its type specimen is NMV P75100, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Redcastle R25 Unit 3, which is in a Lochkovian marine sandstone in the Mount Ida Formation of Australia.
