Cryptocaris hootchi

Taxonomy
Cryptocaris hootchi was named by Schram (1974). Its type specimen is FMNH P51405, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Area 3, Pit 11, Peabody Coal Company, which is in a Moscovian marine shale in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Cryptocaris.
