Machaeroprosopus pristinus
Taxonomy
Pseudopalatus pristinus was named by Mehl (1928). Its type specimen is MU 525VP, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 7 miles NE Adamana, which is in a Norian terrestrial horizon in the Chinle Formation of Arizona. It is the type species of Pseudopalatus.
It was recombined as Machaeroprosopus pristinus by Hungerbühler et al. (2013), Stocker and Butler (2013) and Parker et al. (2013).
