Taxonomy
Morlodon vellerei was named by Solé (2013). Its type specimen is MNHN StA 741-L, a mandible (Left mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saint-Agnan, which is in a MP 8 + 9 terrestrial horizon in France. It is the type species of Morlodon.
