Taxonomy
Minimovellentodon russelli was named by Solé et al. (2014). Its type specimen is MHNL 20269998, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP V6167, Mutigny quarry, which is in a Ypresian terrestrial horizon in the Lignites de Soissonais Formation of France. It is the type species of Minimovellentodon.
