Taxonomy
Loboidothyris waitomoensis was named by MacFarlan (2016). Its type specimen is McF 10M2/1, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is McF 10M2, Marokopa Valley road quarry (R16/f0428), which is in a Bajocian marine horizon in New Zealand.
