Taxonomy
Kutchithyris challinori was named by MacFarlan (2016). Its type specimen is AU B396, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AU 900, Whakapirau Road (R16/f6960), which is in an Oxfordian marine horizon in the Ohineruru Formation of New Zealand.
