Terebratulina leeae was named by MacFarlan (2016). Its type specimen is AU B428, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AU 2977, Totara Peninsula (R15/f8027), which is in an Oxfordian marine sandstone in New Zealand.
