Taxonomy
Prosarcodon maturus was named by Lopatin and Kondrashov (2004). Its type specimen is PIN 3104/778, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tsagan Khushu Quarry 1 [SMPE], which is in a Bumbanian terrestrial gravel in the Naran Bulak Formation of Mongolia.
