Eubrontes monax

Taxonomy
Paracoelurosaurichnus monax was named by Zhen et al. (1986). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BPV-FP2, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Xiiyang, Jinning tracksites (BPV), which is in a Hettangian terrestrial horizon in the Fengjiahe Formation of China.

It was recombined as Eubrontes monax by Lockley et al. (2013), Xing et al. (2014), Xing et al. (2021) and Li et al. (2021).

S. Zhen et al. 1986Biped, digitigrade, with three clawed toes (II, III, IV), there are neither impression of hallux nor toe V. The outline of the footprint is not symmetrical. Toe III is the longest. The angles between the digits are II-30°-III-10°-IV. The phalangeal pads range closely. There are neither metatarso-phalangeal pads nor impression of tail touching the ground.
S. Zhen et al. 1989Bipedal, digitigrade, with three clawed toes (II, III, IV). Impressions of toe V and hallux are absent. The outline of the foot is compact. The length of the footprint is 25.5 cm (digit III) and the width is 19.0 cm. The angles between the digits are II-30°-III-10°-IV.
