Kayentapus otariensis
Taxonomy
Schizograllator otariensis was named by Matsukawa et al. (2005). Its type specimen is OTK-001-3, a footprint, and it is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Kuruma, Otari tracksite, which is in a Pliensbachian delta plain siliciclastic in the Kitamatadani Formation of Japan.
It was recombined as Kayentapus otariensis by Lockley et al. (2013).

M. Matsukawa et al. 2005 | Small-sized Schizograllator. Track length is longer than its width. Bipedal, digitigrade with three toes (II, III, IV). Impressions of toe V, hallux, and tail are absent. The angles between digits II and IV range from about 60° to 80°. The length of digit III is little longer than digit II and IV. |
