Taxonomy
Krimargyrotheca balkii was named by MacKinnon and Smirnova (1995). Its type specimen is MGU TNS 136/173, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Balki, Sarysu River, which is in a Berriasian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in Ukraine.
