Taxonomy
Premontrelestes duchaussoisi was named by Smith (2001). Its type specimen is PRE-L-746, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Prémontré, which is in a MP 10 marginal marine sandstone in France. It is the type species of Premontrelestes.
