Natica vapincana was named by d'Orbigny (1850). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Natica (Ampullina) vapincana by Boussac (1911); it was recombined as Globularia (Globularia) vapincana by Karagiuleva (1964); it was recombined as Globularia vapincana by Okan and Hosgor (2008) and Okan and Hosgor (2009); it was recombined as Ampullina vapincana by Islamoglu et al. (2011).

Hosgor 2008Shell globose, large, spire low, body whorl greatly inflated, slightly rounded; shell thick, number of whorls about 5–6, whorl profile gently rounded with a tendency for the last volution to be slightly flattened on the posterior half of the whorl, suture moderately impressed.
