Taxonomy
Lyriinae was named by Pilsbry and Olsson (1954) [m. kosnik taxon no: 10198]. It is extant.

It was corrected as Lyrinae by Woodring (1964); it was synonymized subjectively with Volutinae by Darragh (1989); it was reranked as the tribe Lyriini by Merle and Pacaud (2014).

It was assigned to Volutidae by Woodring (1964), Squires (1987), Ponder and Warén (1988), Vokes (1998) and Harzhauser (2004); and to Volutinae by Merle and Pacaud (2014).
